Taking an exam doesn't mean you have to become a professional musician. The exam will help students set a goal and try their best to achieve the exam requirement. 99% of the students feel an enormous improvement after every test. The exam is not required for every student, but we encourage everyone to try it out!

Relax
Depending on the exam level, students usually prepare the exam pieces 4 months ahead. We will pick the correct music for students and start working in the class.
If students are taking the ABRSM exam, music theory & musicianship are required. Please check out our theory class page for more information.
Adding extra lessons is not required for exam students, but it will be required if we notice a student isn't prepared well enough.
Memorizing pieces is required during the exam. Don't worry, we will start 1 by 1.
Exams are usually live performances, but we do the sound recording in class to analyze students' playing, have students listen, and help them understand which part they can do better.
Students will be doing a few rehearsals and pretending they are on the live performance. Such as bowing, running through all pieces, and preventing all possible mistakes.
If students are taking the violin exam, piano accompaniment is usually required. We will help you find professional piano accompaniment, but this will be an additional charge from the pianist.
Deep breath, and don't worry too much! Your hard work will pay off!
